Carol and I had a chance to ride on the trolley car in Sanfrancisco. $5.00 to sit. Free if you want to stand and risk falling off.
China town was different. If you have a pet duck, you better hang on to it here. They love duck like we do chicken. Although I do think they like chicken feet.
We went to Chip and Sherri's house after the trip to California.
This is one place we only saw from a distance. We got scammed on this tour of the prison, Alcatraz. But that's another story.

We drove down the coast to the Big Sur. We stopped and view giant cliffs, caves and waves splashing on the huge rocks.
The mountains roll down the the ocean. I would have liked to stay in this spot for an hour.
This is a giant coastal redwood tree(a different species from the sequoia) Its bark is a purple in color.
Carol and I had a chaance to view the Golden Gate Bridge.

Keith took us to the Pebble Beach Golf Course. This lonely cypress is ther logo.
This is what a few residents see when they look at there beach view. I believe this is a group of harbor seals enjoying the sun.
If I ever decide to move to Monterey I might need to take of a collection from the family. I might be a few dollars short.

After the sequoia adventure we came back to Monterey to Keith and Tameka's appartment on the beach. The sea weed on the beach looks like it came from another planet. The bay was gorgeous.
There were sea lions all everywhere we went. 95% were large mails(500lbs.+) I took a rare shot of a mother with baby. Most of the females go down south to breed.

We all enjoyed the Fishermans Wharf where we shopped, whale watched and ate clam chowder in a bread bowl.
We went to church at the base chapel Christmas Sunday. Keith lead the music service and I assisted.

This was noe of my favorite past times(eating coastal the specialties).

It snowed about four inches the first night but the sun came out the next morning. The sequoia groves could have been more beautiful.

This was a panaramic view from another lodge about 40 minutes away. We were stuck there for about 1-1/2 hours when the rangers closed the road to plow.

This is the John Muer Lodge. We played scrabble and uno in the evenings by the fireplace.

Christmas Trip to California

Carol and I flew to California over the Christmas vacation to spend some time with Keith and Tameka. We had some great opportunities to see some of God's wonderful creation. This is a shot of us in front of a giant sequoia tree at the Grant Grove in the Kings Canyon National Park.
